Praise to the holiest - Cantores Missae
With “immaculate musicianship” the renowned London choral group Cantores Missae “deliver an eclectic sweep of repertory from ancient to Elgar that stands comfortably at the centre of traditional Catholic liturgy” (The Catholic Herald).
Incorporating some of the music featured in the Masses for Pope Benedict XVI’s 2010 UK visit, the vocalists bring a serene intimacy to plainsong, hymns and motets alike, while balancing the familiar with the less well-known, such as Croce’s O sacrum convivium, Tantum ergo by Bruckner and Attwood’s Veni Creator.
Details:
Praise to the holiest – A collection of much-loved Gregorian Chant, Hymns and Motets
Cantores Missae: Kirsty Hopkins, Ildiko Allen (sopranos), Tim Travers Brown (counter-tenor), Bene’t Coldstream (tenor), Colin Campbell, William Townend (baritones), Neil Wright (organ), Charles Finch (director)
