Thoughts for the Day
Father Werenfried van Straaten was the founder of Aid to the Church in Need. Throughout the 90 years of his life, including 56 years running Aid to the Church in Need, he was never afraid to speak out on matters of spirituality, charity, persecution and human suffering.
Each day of the year, we will present words of wisdom from Father Werenfried. Please take some time to reflect on his words, and to remember persecuted and suffering Christians in your prayers.
We hope you will be inspired!

Sunday, 5th February 2012 Do not be afraid! Our salvation is in our own hands. For the Prince of Darkness is not to be feared because he opposes God, but because we forget God; not because he is strong in hate, but because we are weak in love; not because he kills Christians, but because we do not live as Christians and are shackled to this earth with a thousand chains. |
