Prayer for Peace in Sudan and South Sudan

The bishops of Sudan and South Sudan have asked us to pray this special prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

Heavenly Father,
Your children in Sudan and
South Sudan cry to you:
Hear the pleas of your people
As violence worsens,
As poverty deepens,
As they flee their homes
Seeking sanctuary.

Yet you, Lord, are their salvation:
Good to all who hope in you,
Gracious to all who turn to you,
Look upon your children,
Who have endured persecution,
Disease and war,
And grant them
That peace which the world cannot give,
The peace of your only son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ.
