Aid to the Church in Need becomes a Pontifical Foundation

December 2011: Pope Benedict XVI has elevated the international organisation Aid to the Church in Need, of which the British section is part, to the status of Pontifical Foundation. The Holy Father assigned the Prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, to the position of the President of the Foundation. Read more

History

Aid to the Church in Need was founded by Father Werenfried van Straaten in 1947. At the request of a number of Popes, the charity now supports the Church worldwide.

Jobs and Volunteering
