There are many ways you can get involved with Aid to the Church in Need’s work supporting persecuted and suffering Christians.

You can make a personal contribution, raise money for us, promote awareness of the persecution and oppression millions of Christians suffer – and don’t forget the power of prayer!

Your gift – no matter how small – will make a big difference to the lives of our suffering brothers and sisters around the world. Just £1 is enough to provide a copy of Aid to the Church in Need’s Child’s Bible for someone in one of the 130 countries where we support the Church’s work.

Become a friend of Aid to the Church in Need

Why not think about supporting Aid to the Church in Need regularly? A monthly, quarterly or annual gift is a real mark of friendship and solidarity with persecuted and suffering Christians.

It doesn’t have to be much, but the certainty it will give Aid to the Church in Need to ensure we can fulfil our promises of love to the Church around the world is beyond price.

A regular gift will make you a Friend of Aid to the Church in Need and we will be pleased to acknowledge your friendship by including your intentions and those of your family in our daily prayers.

Tell a friend

Research indicates that in the 21st century Christians as a whole are more oppressed than any other faith community. That is why Aid to the Church in Need thinks it is so important to make the voice of persecuted and suffering Christians heard.

Will you listen to that voice? On this site, you can keep up to date with our latest news stories from around the world, as well as reading inspiring stories of faith from the people you are helping in more than 130 countries.

You can also help us pass on the message by telling your family, friends and colleagues, fellow parishioners, social justice groups, your local MP and others about our website – and about the plight of persecuted Christians around the world.

Many of the people we support cannot speak up for themselves. You can help us speak up for them.

Say a little prayer

Your prayers form an important spiritual bond with Christians around the world who suffer persecution, oppression or discirmination for their beliefs. And you can be sure that the Chrisitans you are helping are praying for you, too.

Helping you pray

Prayer is something we can all do right here and right now. Please visit our Prayer page to join in.

There you can pray along with recordings of the Angelus and the Rosary, and read Thoughts for the Day by Aid to the Church in Need’s late founder, Father Werenfried van Straaten, who was a great advocate of the power of prayer.

We sell a range of devotional items in our online shop – why not find something that inspires you in prayer?

Gathering in prayer

As well as personal prayer you can help widen the prayer circle by asking your parish or prayer group to pray for persecuted and suffering Christians. Please visit our Pray for the  Persecuted Church page to find out more.

Our pilgrimages and events are also an opportunity to come together in prayer. You can find more details of forthcoming events – as well as adding any events that you may be holding on our behalf – on our Events Calendar.

Remembering your prayer intentions

If you would like to remember a special intention, or those of a loved one, why not make a Mass Offering to a poor priest? Your Offering will help support the clergy around the world, and a priest in one of the countires where Aid to the Church in Need works will offer the Holy Sacrifice of Mass for your intentions.

If you would like us to remember your intentions when we gather to pray the Angelus each day, please tell us your prayer intentions

The gift of time

Time is a very precious commodity. That is why Aid to the Church in Need highly values the commitment and energy of our volunteers around the country.

Whether you would like to become a representative of Aid to the Church in Need in your parish, or act as a school speaker for us, you can become part of an international effort to make the needs of persecuted and suffering Christians better known and supported.

If you would like to become a parish representative or a school speaker for Aid to the Church in Need, please contact us. You should get permission from your parish priest to become a parish representative.

From time to time Aid to the Church in Need also seeks volunteers to help out at our national office in Sutton, Surrey and our Scottish regional office in Motherwell.
