Aid to the Church in Need Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
Pilgrims entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem
8 November 2012 – 16 November 2012
Israel and Palestine
Aid to the Church in Need is joining with Pax Travel to offer this very special pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
With five nights in Bethlehem and three nights in Tiberias, pilgrims will be able to visit some of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Christianity.
The trip will also include visits to projects which you have supported through Aid to the Church in Need, including the Syrian Orthodox Church outside Manger Square in Bethlehem and the solidarity village at Beit Satafa, Tanfur, East Jerusalem.
There will be a walking-tour inside the Old City of Jerusalem, where pilgrims will visit the Pool of Bethesda, where it is said that Jesus healed a man who was lame for 38 years. And pilgrims will be able to meet some of the Christian families who make Aid to the Church in Need's Holy Land gifts out of olive wood.
There will be meetings held with Patriarch Fouad Twal in Jerusalem and Archbishop Elias Chacour in Ibillin, and Mass will be celebrated daily.
Pope Benedict XVI has called on Aid to the Church in Need to offer urgent help to Christians in the Middle East, where he noted that in some regions the "local Churches are... threatened in their very existence".
All enquiries and bookings for this pilgrimage are being handled by Pax Travel. Please call 020 7485 3003 or visit the Pax Travel website for a full itinerary and more information.
