Aid to the Church in Need 2011 Walsingham Pilgrimage of Hope

Aid to the Church in Need 2011 Walsingham Pilgrimage of Hope

Pilgrims follow the Cross in a procession at Walsingham

30 April 2011 12:00

The Roman Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady
Walsingham
Norfolk
NR22 6DB

This pilgrimage is occurring simultaneously with our Carfin Pilgrimage in Scotland.  Unfortunately, this pilgrimage is now fully booked.

Our popular Day of Pilgrimage returns, with friends of Aid to the Church in Need uniting in prayer at the national Marian shrines of England and Scotland. During the day we will remember our suffering brothers and sisters in Christ who endure violence and persecution for their faith.

We will again be organising coaches from London Victoria to Walsingham, departing at 8am. Coach tickets are £20 per person. We will send you full details of coach arrangements after you make your booking.

Pilgrims are also welcome to make their own way to Walsingham. We will assemble at 11.45 at the Shrine – the Aid to the Church in Need party will be clearly recognisable by pennants bearing our red logo.

Itinerary

8am – Coaches depart Bressenden Place, London Victoria. The first two Mysteries of the 20-decade Rosary and the Prayer for England will be prayed en-route to Walsingham, and hymns will be sung.

11.45 – Arrive at Walsingham. Anyone meeting us there should meet at this time. The Aid to the Church in Need party will be clearly recognisable by pennants bearing our red logo.

12.00 – Angelus accompanied by Father Phillip-Michael Tangorra, of Paterson in New Jersey, USA.

12.10 – Lunch. You may bring your own packed lunch, or purchase it from the Walsingham Shrine tea rooms.

1.30 – Pilgrim Mass at the Roman Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady.

2.30 – Pilgrim Rosary procession to Walsingham Parish Church of the Annunciation. The procession will follow the old Railway Track route. Father Phillip-Michael Tangorra will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the Procession for those who wish to receive it.

3.30 – Benediction at the Church of the Annunciation.

4.15 – Free time for refreshments – and a chance for pilgrims to visit Aid to the Church in Need's Walsingham Information and Gift Centre on the High Street.

4.45 – Coaches depart from Walsingham.

8.45 – Coaches arrive back at London Victoria.
