Join us at Aid to the Church in Need's pilgrimage to Ladyewell Shrine in Preston – a Marian shrine established in the 12th century by an Irish sea captain saved from a storm at sea.

Itinerary

11.00am – Pilgrims gather at Ladyewell Shrine.

11.15am-11.45am - A chance to see the Shrine

12.00 noon – Open Air Mass celebrated by Father Tom Hoole, Parish Priest and Shrine Director.

12.45pm-1.30pm – Lunch. It is advisable to bring your own packed lunch. During lunch, there will be an opportunity for pilgrims to browse and purchase some of Aid to the Church in Need’s cards and gifts.

1.45pm-2.45pm – Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

2.00pm – Tour of the shrine. Many of the Martyrs' relics are here, such as Towneley Altar, disguised as a sideboard, where Saint Edmund Campion said the Mass when he was in Lancashire.

2.45pm - 3.15pm – Benediction and praying of the Rosary.

3.30pm – Pilgrims are welcome to depart.

NB For those that are driving, there are two car parks available. One car park is 400-500 yards away. The other car park is three quarters of a mile away.
