The skyline of the old city, Jerusalem
3 November 2010 – 11 November 2010
Israel and Palestine
Please note the change of dates for this pilgrimage (previously advertised for 9th – 16th November)
Urged by Archbishop Elias Chacour of the Galilee and Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal of Jerusalem to visit the “living stones” of Christianity in the Holy Land, Aid to the Church in Need is joining with Pax Travel to offer this very special pilgrimage.
With four nights in Bethlehem/Jerusalem and three nights in the Galilee, pilgrims will be able to visit some of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Christianity.
The trip will also include visits to projects which you have supported through Aid to the Church in Need, including the Seminary in Beit Jala, Bethlehem, the Syrian Orthodox Church outside Manger Square in Bethlehem and the solidarity village at Beit Satafa, Tanfur, East Jerusalem.
And pilgrims will be able to meet some of the Christian families who make Aid to the Church in Need’s Holy Land gifts out of olive wood.
There will be meetings held with Patriarch Fouad Twal in Jerusalem and Archbishop Elias Chacour in Ibillin, Galilee, and Mass will be celebrated daily.
Pope Benedict XVI has called on Aid to the Church in Need to offer urgent help to Christians in the Middle East, where he noted that in some regions the “local Churches are… threatened in their very existence”.
