Aid to the Church in Need UK’s Head of Press and Information, John Pontifex, reports back on how you are bringing hope to persecuted Christian communities around the world, particularly in east India, where he visited last November.
Christians in the state of Orissa have suffered terrifying persecution at the hands of extremists. Thousands fled their homes, while over 70 lost their lives.
Thanks to you, Aid to the Church in Need has been able to offer them succour and solidarity as they look to rebuild in the aftermath of terror.
Xavier Legorreta, Aid to the Church in Need’s project coordinator for Latin America, will also speak at the event.
Mr Legoretta is a leading expert on the Church in Cuba, having visited the country a dozen times is as many years. He will describe the growth of Christianity in Cuba in the face of poverty and oppression at the hands of the communist regime.
What will the future hold for Cuba’s faithful in a post-Castro society?
