Welcome!

Aid to the Church in Need NW works in five regional dioceses throughout North West England and North Wales. Prayer vigils, lectures and other events are scheduled each year to raise awareness of the plight of persecuted Christian communities the world over.

There are lots of ways for you, your Parish or your School to get involved.

Visit this page to find out what's currently happening at ACN North West and ways in which you can get involved.

The North West Office supports benefactors, parishes, schools and special interest groups in the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Diocese of Lancaster, Salford, Shrewsbury and Wrexham. Caroline, NW Manager, and Catherine, NW Administrative Officer, would be delighted to hear from you at any time.

We are always happy to visit your parish or school to speak about the charity and its work with persecuted Christians; we are also able to provide prayer cards, ACN literature and other support as needed.

‘The Work of Your Hands’ - A Floral success for ACN NW!

Florists and volunteers from north-west England came together last week to produce floral displays to raise money to support displaced and refugee families in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East.

With hundreds of visitors the flower festival raised more than £6,000 which ACN will use to support three families of five in the Middle East for one year each.

The event, entitled The Work of Your Hands, took place from 25th – 27th June 2016 at Lancaster Cathedral and floral arrangements focused on the history of the charity and its work around the world.

ACN NW Prayer Vigils for Persecuted Christians

Each year ACN-NW works with a number of parishes throughout the region to offer prayer vigils to support those Christian communities suffering from persecution elsewhere in the world.

The vigils take different forms, but typically last just over an hour and offer the chance for you to learn about, and reflect on, the current state of religious freedom throughout the world.

Each vigil includes scriptural readings, guided and silent prayer and statements of personal witness; please try and attend one near you!
